Benjamin Bacon is an Assistant Professor of Computational and Media Design and the former Director of undergraduate Design + Technology at Parsons The New School for Design. He is currently a visiting researcher at Nokia Research Center in China, is part of the HomeShop Beijing artist initiative and is implementing digital and game design curriculums at Dandelion School in Beijing with support from the AMD Foundation. His work and research focuses on the intersection of technology, social media, mobility, sound and information design. He has lectured, performed and exhibited at a variety of institutions, exhibitions and conferences. He is the former Information Technology Manager at Parsons Institute of Information Mapping (PIIM) and a founding member of the new media research group SpyLab that’s mission is to create long distance collaborative projects with researchers and artists around the world.  He has a BA in Cinema Studies and Political Science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and an MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons.
